Miracle Media Launches Global Sustainability Partnership with Ocean Clean Group

Newly established ocean conservation organisation Ocean Clean Group (OCG) has joined forces with Miracle Media, a leading independent, international movie publisher, to tackle plastic pollution and inspire collective action.

OCG partner with environmental organisations to ensure their ocean cleanup efforts are effective.

Miracle Media has committed to remove from our oceans around the world, double the amount of plastic used in its home entertainment (DVD/Blu-ray) products.

This partnership will educate audiences on the impact of plastic waste while directly involving consumers in clean-up efforts. For every product sold, Miracle Media will remove double the amount of plastic that a typical DVD weighs from the ocean, empowering buyers to contribute to measurable environmental impact through their purchases, reinforcing a collective responsibility toward ocean preservation.

Oscar Lacey, Founder of Ocean Clean Group, commented, "This partnership allows us to connect with more people, inspire action, and show how simple actions can drive meaningful change for our oceans."

Andy Taylor, Miracle Media Commercial Director confirmed, “Whilst much of our home entertainment is delivered digitally, via platforms and channels directly into homes across the world, we still create and sell physical products. DVDs and Blu-Rays are largely made up of plastic components and we wanted to contribute to the solution rather than be part of a global ocean contamination problem. For this reason, we are working with OCG as partners to manage the removal of twice the amount of plastic that we create. We believe we are the first in the film publishing business anywhere around the world to introduce such sustainability action and hope others will follow.” He continued, “Our products are not single-use plastics but primarily collectible home entertainment, but inevitably at some point in the future, these items may be disposed of and could potentially contribute to ocean pollution.”

Key Goals of the Partnership:

●      Educating the Audience: This partnership aims to raise awareness about the impact of plastic pollution on marine ecosystems.

●      Inspiring Action: Every DVD purchase will directly contribute to ocean clean-up efforts, making buyers active participants in the fight against plastic waste.

●      Doubling the Impact: Miracle Media will remove double the amount of plastic that a typical DVD weighs from the ocean for every DVD/Blu-Ray sold. This ensures that every buyer is directly involved in removing twice as much plastic waste, fostering a sense of collective responsibility and achievement.

A Shared Vision for Sustainability
